As Time Goes By:
Remembering Ingrid Bergman
A fund-raising Gala to benefit the
Bellport-Brookhaven Historical Society Museum
The Bellport-Brookhaven Historical Society
Museum is presenting a special exhibit on the life and career
of Ingrid Bergman, the legendary film star. The exhibit is
drawn from the Ingrid Bergman Collection at the Wesleyan
University Cinema Archives and will be open through Labor Day,
September 6, 2004. The exhibit features rare photographs from
her personal and professional life, film clips and other movie
memorabilia, including the gown she wore in Indiscreet,
letters from Ernest Hemingway, Frank Capra, Alfred Hitchcock,
and much more.
At the Opening Night Gala the exhibit will be introduced by
Miss Bergman’s daughters, Isabella Rossellini, a Bellport
resident, and Pia Lindstrom. They will be interviewed by
Cablevision host Shirley Romaine, after which they will answer
questions from the audience. A special screening of a film
created by Pia Lindstrom about her mother will also be part of
the Gala festivities. Additionally, there will be a live
auction featuring several distinctive items.
Funds raised at the Opening Night Gala will be used by the
Historical Society, a non-profit organization, to fulfill its
mission of preserving the history, heritage and beauty of our
Long Island communities. Your additional contributions will be
greatly appreciated and will be acknowledged in the printed
programs at both the exhibition and at the Gala.
